ABOUT ENERGY FEDERATION, INC.

Established in 1982, Energy Federation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Massachusetts working to accelerate the adoption of energy efficient products, largely through initiatives done in conjunction with natural gas and electric throughout North America.

ORDERING PROCESSING INFORMATION

Payment

EFI accepts payment by MasterCard, VISA, Discover, American Express, check, or PayPal. All transactions are in U.S. Dollars. We authorize orders before shipping. For security purposes credit card information is not maintained by EFI. Check or money order payments must be received prior to order shipment. Please include your order number on the check or money order.

Shipping

Most orders are delivered by either the United States Postal Service (USPS) or United Parcel Service (UPS). Most orders for in-stock products usually ship within two to five business days, some may take one to three weeks. Order status information may be monitored through the My Account section of the site.

Packaging

At EFI we strive to reduce the environmental impacts associated with the packages we ship. EFI predominantly uses recyclable material.

Backorders

If products are on backorder we will provide you with an estimated ship date for the backordered products, usually by e-mail. Even if all products can not be shipped at one time, the total shipping charge will never exceed the shipping quote provided during checkout. You are also able to check on an order's status through the My Account section of our site.

Order Modifications/Cancellations

Our warehouse receives orders for fulfillment immediately after your order is placed. As a result, we are unable to change or cancel orders once they have placed. Once your order has been received please contact us and we will work with you to facilitate a return or exchange as necessary.

 


FOR RETURNS/ EXCHANGES INFORMATION

Please open and inspect your order within 2 days of receipt. If you would like to return or exchange your order, please log into your marketplace account.

Navigate to My Account > select My Orders > click on the order you'd like to view/return > select Return and proceed to enter in all applicable information

Once the return is requested you should be prompted with a return label that will allow you to send the product back to EFI, the marketplace provider. Once returns are received, we will begin to process the exchange/credit. If requesting a credit, please allow 7-10 business days for the credit to be processed from the date your item is received at EFI.

General Return Policy

Non-installed items in the original packaging are returnable 30 days from delivery. Once Energy Federation Inc. has received the item, please allow 10 to 14 business days for a credit equal to the product purchase price that will be processed to the same payment method of the product returned.

 

Incorrectly Shipped Orders

Energy Federation Inc. will ship a new order for the correct merchandise within 3 to 5 business days.  Energy Federation Inc. will send you a prepaid return label for you to return the incorrectly shipped merchandise.

 

Damaged Item Returns

If an order has arrived damaged, please let the carrier know. Energy Federation Inc. will issue a credit equal to the product purchase price that will be processed to the same payment for the damaged product, or Energy Federation Inc. will give you a replacement for the damaged product.

 

Defective Item Returns

Eligible Period: 90 days from the delivery date. Energy Federation Inc. will issue you a prepaid return label to return the defective merchandise. Energy Federation Inc. will give a credit equal to the product purchase price that will be processed to the same payment for the damaged product, or Energy Federation Inc. will issue you a replacement for the damaged product. If the merchandise fails during the manufacturer's product warranty but after 90 days of the delivery date, Energy Federation Inc. reserves the right to refer you to the manufacturer for replacement of the failed product.

 

Non-Eligible Items

Opened or installed thermostats, caulks, foams, mastic, tapes, and items not in original condition.

Defective Item Returns (Smart Thermostats)

If smart thermostat is deemed truly defective by the manufacturer, NOT incompatible, contact the thermostat manufacturer to discuss replacement. See Below.

Defective Item Returns (All Other Products)

Eligible Time Period: 1 year from delivery date (unless otherwise noted). Depending on the original method of shipment we will either issue a UPS Call Tag or send a prepaid return address label to you for return of the merchandise. A credit will be issued when the defective items are received. You are not responsible for the cost of return of defective merchandise when a UPS Call Tag or prepaid return address label is used. You are responsible for the cost of return shipping if you do not use one of these methods. If the merchandise fails during the manufacturer's product warranty, but after one year from the purchase date, Energy Federation reserves the right to refer you to the manufacturer for replacement of the failed product.
