This ecobee trim kit can only be used with ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential or Smart Thermostat Lite.In homes where the thermostat attaches to a junction box, a plastic or metal box that houses wires, the Trim Kit is required to mount your smart thermostat. You may also want to pick up the Trim Kit to cover up any gaps or blemishes left by your old thermostat.
